Like babies, these giant whales were born from their matrix—shipyards
像嬰兒一樣,這些巨鯨誕生于她們的母體—船廠
The first steel plate’s cutting declares her birth

The first keel laying shows her entering into school

And once she launches, she starts to touch the water by herself for the first time

At the delivery ceremony, she graduates and ready to sail for the oceans.

She starts to be busy on travelling among the ports all over the world

Like an Amazon fighter never stops

Loading, unloading
裝載,卸貨
She breaks, she repairs

One day, she found that her is slowing

She knows that she is getting older

With no more beautiful face and firm body
不再有華麗的外裝,和堅實的臂膀
What does not change that she is still staggering forwards
即使如此,又有何妨;即使蹣跚,仍眺望遠(yuǎn)方
Till she sees Bangladesh
直到又一天,她仿佛看見了孟加拉海灘的拆船廠
The port where she lies
那會是她最后的歸宿
She is so tired
她累了
White whale is not stranding but slept
巨鯨不會擱淺,她只是睡了
Dreaming of those old days
夢中閃過那些榮耀的日子
Dreaming of where she comes
夢回了她出生的地方
The sunset shines over her
西沉的夕陽照在她身上
And the seagulls fly by
海鷗飛掠而過
She just sleeps on
她沉沉地睡了
